Furniture Renewal on a Low-End Budget

I recently got a coupon for a FREE sample of Valspar paint at Lowe’s. Because I moved last year and was not sure if I had them anymore, I purchased a paintbrush and mini paint roller.

These paint samples are a great way to test out a new color. They also are fantastic if you have a small furniture project. I decided to test out a new color by using it to paint a vintage plant stand that I got a few years back. The condition of the wood was not the best, but after having one of our dogs chew at it and using it in the bathroom, it was looking rustic at best. I was ready to pitch it.

Using the free paint, I was able to dress it up a little for spring.

I used the color Herb Cornucopia (sample is shown in the “After” photo). Although it turned out more minty than I had hoped for, I think it is an improvement over the “Before” picture.

What do you think? Do you ever renew your furniture in a frugal way? Tell me about it.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my little project. Thanks also for your comment.

Although this is a plant stand, I have found many other practical uses around the house for it. The green is a little more minty than I would have preferred, but it is nice for spring.

I just ‘Liked’ and Followed you on FB and Twitter, by the way.

      Thanks again.

      Enjoy your day.
